On May 13th, we celebrate Frog Jumping Day and Leprechaun Day. I don't know why, we just do. Frog Jumping became nationally (internationally?) known thanks to good ole Samuel Clemens, or as you may know him better by Mark Twain. His first piece of fiction was The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County. Ribit. Now, on to Leprechauns, even though they are green (like some frogs) the reason they share this day is unknown. Don't you think St. Patrick's Day would be enough for them. They say no. They wanted a day all their own, not to share with St. Patrick, rainbows, shamrocks and green beer. So here's to little Leprechauns and Jumping Frogs!
