Pack Rats

Pack Rat Day – Are you a pack rat? Do you know a pack rat? We aren’t so bad. Sometimes we are PRs because we are sentimental or have personal recycling on the brain. Which are you? No matter. If you  are a Pack Rat, stand in your realm and relish your accomplishments. If you aren’t and you know one, go, take them lunch and ask them to tell you about one of their collections.

Today is the 135th anniversary of the running of the first Kentucky Derby. Do you think they, founders and visitors alike, thought the Run for the Roses would still be here after all this time AND such an influence on racing as a whole? PS-It was won by Aristides.

Other Notes of History:  Thor Heyerdahl left Morocco in RaII (a papyrus boat) in 1970…Just to prove it could be done. In 1846, the saxophone was patented by Adolphe Sax…The New York Stock Exchange was “born” in 1792.

Todays Birthdays include…
Boxer, Sugar Ray Leonard (1956); Actor, Dennis Hopper (1936); Actress, Maureen O’ Sullivan (1911); The Pioneer of the Smallpox Vaccine, Edward Jenner (1749).
