Rubber Eraser Day

Today is Rubber Eraser Day. Please celebrate in style by making many mistakes with your Number Two Pencil and erase away!!!
Also, Today is Titanic Remembrance Day. So many people perished in those dark, cold Atlantic waters. Go out this afternoon and rent your favorite Titanic movie...Mine is A Night to Remember (1958).

1865- President Abraham Lincoln died on this day, 9 hours after being shot by John Wilkes Booth.
1912- RMS Titanic finally succumbs to the icy waters of the Atlantic after having struck an iceburg 2 ½ hours earlier. 1517 people were killed while only 705 were saved.
1947- Jackie Robinson became the first negro player in Major League Baseball (Brooklyn Dodgers)
1990- Greta Garbo died at the age of 84 in New York City.

1741- Charles Wilson Peale, Portraitist, etc. Could be one of the most influential men you have never heard of. Had a hand in an early precursor to xerox machine or copy paper, he painted numerous early American portraits you have probably seen, and founded the Philadelphia museum which was known for its re-assembling of mammoth bones. He also dabbled in carpentry, dentistry, optometry, shoemaking, and taxidermy and fathered many children famous in their own right.

1959- Emma Thompson, Actress (Dead Again, Nanny McPhee, Angels in America, Harry Potter films)
1990- Emma Watson, Actress (Hermoine-Harry Potter films)
